The individual scores in each of the three areas will be useful for players to rank themselves against one another to see who has the best totals for PVE, PVP or crafting play. Even better, Age of Conan will rank each of the guilds in terms of overall Renown and the separate Renown earned for each of the three individual categories. So in addition to having guilds competing for overall Renown ranking, they'll also be competing to see which of them are best at the three different styles of play.
Apart from bragging rights, Renown has another significant impact on the game in the form of rewards. Guilds that build a sufficient level of Renown can unlock new buildings, new decorations, as well as mounts and companions to be shared by all of the members. Guild cities will soon be adorned with over a hundred exclusive decorations, from shrubs and pillars to banners and statues. More significantly, at a high enough level guild cities can build two different team-based PVP arenas, which will make visits to the guild city even more attractive for high-level players.
